Dear ,

As we approach a new year, we are noticing color plays a big role in both the interiors and exteriors of homes. Dark colors and textures will likely dominate the outside of many houses, while trends for the inside combine bold blues and light pastels.

We hope you find these articles useful and, when you are ready, you will let us help you turn your house into the perfect home.

Exterior Design Trends for 2023

We spend a lot of time indoors during the cold, dark winter months but don’t forget about your home’s exterior. Once the days get longer, and you want to spend more time outside, you’ll need the exterior of your home to be up to date and look its best.

Let’s take a look at the biggest exterior home trends for 2023.

Dark Colors

2023 is going to be a moody year full of drama – well, for home décor anyway. Dark, rich colors are replacing the bright whites and grays that you probably have in your home.

To take this trend outside, replace your siding with a dark blue, forest green, or slate gray siding. The bold-colored siding is an easy and effective way to transform your home and make it look more modern.

If your home doesn’t have siding, you can still get in on this trend. You can install a dark, dramatic front door. A black front door works with just about any style or color palette and instantly makes your home stand out. To make your entryway even more dramatic, install an oversized light feature.

How to Add Colocr to Your Renovation

After years of beige and white taking over home design, we are now bringing color back. We aren’t talking about little splashes of color, either. We mean adding bright, bold elements of color to spaces in your home.

If you aren’t sure how to go about adding color into your neutral toned home, we have you covered. Let’s look at the most popular colors in home design and how to add them to your space.

Blues

Dark navy blues and bright blues alike are taking over home design. While there are many places you can add them, we like the look of blue cabinets in the kitchen best.

Blue kitchen cabinets work well with just about any style of home. Depending on the hardware, backsplash, and countertops you pair with them, blue cabinets can work in modern, transitional, farmhouse styles – the list goes on and on!

You can go for a dark, moody blue to give your kitchen a sense of peace and calmness. Bright blue cabinets could also be used if you want a more lively space. Either way, blue cabinets in the kitchen is something you should consider.

Pastels

A more surprising color trend we are seeing is the use of pastels in the home. You have to be careful with how and where you incorporate them into your design, so your room doesn’t end up looking like a baby’s nursery.

With the proper execution, pastels will create a tranquil yet interesting space. One great place to add pastels is to your bathroom. Pastel-colored geometric tiled floors will add a ton of character to a bathroom space without being too “loud.”

You could also use pastel tiles in the shower. We like glass mosaics in light pink or soft seafoam greens. This will give your shower a lovely, elegant look.

Fuchsia

For the bravest of homeowners, fuchsia is really popular and can bring so much life into your space. If you’re a little hesitant to add such a bright color to your home, start by adding it to a room that isn’t easily visible.

For example, you could add fuchsia to your mudroom or powder room. You could add fuchsia flooring in the mudroom to brighten the space. If you pair it with white or cream-colored walls and natural wood shelving, believe it or not, the fuchsia will add color and texture without being overpowering.

In the powder room, you could install wallpaper with fuchsia elements to make the small space look bright and vibrant, which will quickly make the powder room one of your favorite spaces in the home!

Want to get colorful? We can help! We would love to schedule a time to help you decide which colors would work best with your remodel to create a bright yet tasteful space your family will love. Give us a call so we can go over some options.
